sml_theboys19th September 2013 – London – CYP Europe, the UK’s leading manufacture of connectivity solutions, is proud to announce that it is the headline sponsor for the CIE-Group charity cycle team.  Riding under the name HDBaseTeam, staff from the UK AV distributor will be embarking on its sixth charity ride all in support of three very worth charities – The Derby Kids CampCancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

The five-rider team, consisting of Group Sales Director Steve Collin, Marketing Director Chris Edwards, Field Sales Director Kevin Sherwood, CYP Product Manager Martin Featherstone and AV Account Manager Lauren Bamford, will leave Bruges in the early hours of Thurs 26th September with the aim of reaching Stuttgart on Saturday 28th September.  Totaling over 550 miles in just three days, the riders are brimming with confidence and a drive to complete the challenge and raise money for its chosen charities.

Commenting on the sponsorship, Chris Edwards, Marketing Director at CIE, said, “We are delighted that CYP have sponsored our ride and it is a huge boost to our efforts to raise money for these fantastic charities, especially Derby Kids Camp, which, for the past six years, I have had the pleasure of working with as the Charity’s Chairman; this is a local charity, completely run and managed by unpaid volunteers, which provides hundreds of free holidays every year to the area’s most disadvantaged young children. Every year, more than 350 children – some of whom have never been on holiday in their lives– enjoy a week’s free adventure thanks to our 150-strong team of volunte ers. Without the amazing support we have received over the years from the CIE cycle team, many, many children would have missed out on this unforgettable experience’

Phil Davis, Marketing and Sales Director at CYP added, “’It gives us great pride at CYP to sponsor the CIE cycling team. We know all of the team very well and know just how much of challenge they will face on the ride. The fact that they are doing this for three great charities with determination and a smile makes it all the better. We will be avidly following their progress throughout Europe and I’m hoping next year CYP will also enter a team of our own…”
